First of all, we thank Almighty Allah for the successful implementation of all the activities undertaken and planned by the organization. We sincerely remember all the help and support of the honorable members associated with the organization. All the activities of Riyadul Muslimat are managed through the guidance and hard work of the respected members of the organization and the members of the executive council. The main activities of Riyadul Muslimat include-

Elementary Education

Afternoon Religious Education Program

All the activities of Riyadul Muslimat are service oriented, which are mainly implemented through teaching activities. Teaching program is one of the main activities of the organization. All teaching activities are conducted by paid teachers under the supervision of respected members of the organization in its own building.

Riyadul Muslimat Shishu School is an exceptional educational institution. All activities here are completely free. Tiffin is distributed to all students and staff daily. The teaching program is mainly conducted in two phases, 6 days a week.

1. “Elementary Education” program daily from 8.00 am to 2.00 pm.

2. “Afternoon Religious Education Program” daily from 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm.

Activities at a Glance

Primary Education

The primary education program of Riyadul Muslimat Shishu School is conducted according to the curriculum prescribed by the board. This educational institution provides education from play-group to class 10th. All classes are taught on the subjects prescribed by the board. Alhamdulillah, the reputation of this educational institution is widely spread in the area. All those who have appeared for the 5th and 8th class final examination from this educational institution have passed the examination successfully in the past years. The number of teachers in the primary education program in this educational institution is 10 people. Also, executive members are always helpful when needed. Currently there are 375 students.

Afternoon Religious Education

Through the religious education program, students are taught to read the Holy Qur’an correctly. Also prayer, fasting, various masnun prayers, surahs with meaning, hadiths, name of Allah, religious manners etc are taught. This education program is taught by trained teachers.

Moral Education

Through the moral education program, female students are taught about the biographies of various Prophets and their ideals, various prayers, educational religious stories, religious customs, manners, etc.

Technical Training (Sewing)

Students studying in this school from 3rd to 8th standard are included in this sewing education program. According to age
they are given training in all types of sewing including needle-yarn, hand sewing, cutting and hand work related to cutting, introduction to materials required for tailoring work, operation of sewing machines etc. This technical training is conducted four days a week. The program is conducted by trained skilled female teachers.

Health and Hygiene Education (for Girls)

Non-Governmental Organization “PRA Promoters Society Bangladesh” provides training on health and hygiene to the girls studying in this institution for two days every month. Total number of students participating in this training is 45. This educational program is mainly conducted through picture showing and discussion, the theme of which is:

1. To give general and important concepts about first aid.

2. Various issues of keeping girls healthy and clean.

Riyadul Muslimat Orphan Girl's Home

The number of students in Riyadul Muslimat Orphan Girls Home is more or less 50. Their age range is 8 years to 15 years. They are from nursery to 10th standard. Resident girls are required to attend regular primary education, religious education, and technical education. In addition to their reading, writing and training is also given in household work

Higher Education

Meritorious students studying in this institution are provided with financial assistance for pursuing higher education.

Recreational Activities

For the mental and physical development of the students, various entertainment such as cultural programs, acting, recitals, drawing competitions, sports competitions, and picnics are organized. Also, special days are celebrated as per the government’s instructions. Prizes are awarded after annual exams to students for their exceptional results. Also in the participation of Honorary members of the organization and students:

1. Eid fair is organized before Ramadan.
2. Pitha festival is organized during the winter season.
3. A class party is organized on the last working day of the year.
4. Kofta party and cake party are organized.
5. Class-wise projector classes are conducted every week.
6. Eid tour and education tour are organized.
7. A seasonal fruit fair is organized.
8. Iftar parties are organized during the month of Ramadan.

Other Activities

  1. Distribution of educational materials (notebooks, pens, pencils, rubber, sharpener), blankets and hygiene kits to students courtesy of Lions Club Dhaka Oasis.
  2. Distribution of new clothes (school dress) free of cost to all students.
  3. Distribution of new clothes and cash to resident girls on the occasion of Eid.
  4. Distribution of new sarees and lungis to the parents of all resident and non-resident students on the occasion of Eid.
  5. Distributing new sarees to needy women. (Those who perform Taraweeh prayer in the organization’s building during the holy month of Ramadan.
  6. Regular high quality cooked food, breakfast, Iftar, seasonal fruits and milk are served by Honorary members for resident girls.

Between staff and students every year

  1. Distribution of iftar ingredients (chickpeas, sugar, dates).
  2. Distribution of Eid materials (semai, sugar, milk powder and polao rice).
  3. Distribution of sacrificial meat and sadaqah meat at various times.

Income Generating Activities

Riyadul Muslimat Orphan Girls’ Home conducts various income-generating activities to give bright future and self-reliance to all the needy students. All these activities are conducted under the own merit and supervision of the selected members of the organization. All money received from each income generating activity is spent on fostering orphans and helpless children.

Boutique

Being a boutique operator with the goal of making students self-reliant. This boutique is sold in sari, salwar kameez, bed sheet, bed cover, kush cover, various handicrafts, applique, embroidery, block, batik. The boutique has provided employment to hostel students.

Cooking

Cooking education programs are another attempt to make students self-reliant by considering their own competencies. Under this educational program, the students are taught hands-on the process of preparing different types of delicious food along with native food.

Pure Spice

Besan, turmeric, chilli, coriander powder, cumin powder and ghee are manufactured and sold in packets under the overall supervision of the members of the organization to ensure 100% purity.

Achievement of the Organization

A verse in the Holy Qur’an states, “Those who recite the Book of Allah, establish prayer, and spend secretly and publicly from what I have provided them with in their lives, can hope that their business will not fail – for Allah will reward them in full.” And give more of your own accord. He is Forgiving, Merciful.”

In view of the above verse, we are also thankful to the Almighty Allah for blessing our hard work, effort and allowing us an opportunity of reflecting on our view which have brought a sense of purpose amongst us all. Some of our memorable accomplishments which express our efforts and attempts are as follows:

* Riyadul Muslimat Shishu School is currently being run with the highest reputation in the area

* Significant number of students of Riyadul Muslimat Orphan Girls Home are currently educated in higher education

* In the Bangabandhu Olympiad Quiz Competition held on 28-08-2019, the students of this organization along with the famous educational institutes also participated and 2 of them won the most successful place.

* A student participating in the 2019 class 5 finals got a scholarship in the general category with a GPA of 5.

* 2 of the students who had failed in the 2019 SSC session were placed under general supervision. They had after which performed in their SSC exam retake towards the end of that very year.

Future Plans

  • To increase the number of children in Riyadul Muslimat Orphan Girl’s Home from 50 to 400.
  • Introduction of Arabic language learning programs.
  • Introduction of computer training, mobile repair, electric wiring services to make all students up to date under Learn To Earn programme.
  • The educational program of Riyadul Muslimat Shishu Shiklayoy is to introduce post-SSC education system.
  • To prepare modern science labs to increase science based knowledge of students.
